چکیده
The visually striking neurocutaneous findings of neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) are well recognized and have been documented throughout scientific literature. While not uncommon, the pulmonary manifestations NF1 unknown to many physicians. Complications associated diffuse lung disease (NF-DLD) include hypertension, artery stenosis, subpleural cysts, spontaneous pneumothorax. We present a case 34-year-old male with NF-DLD found incidentally in adolescence previous apical bleb repair, presenting nearly twenty years later In patients complaints, should be assessed computed tomography (CT) physicians familiar complications.

Spontaneous pneumothorax. A complication of lung cancer?
Among 338 adults (258 men and 80 women) presenting with spontaneous pneumothorax, there were six men with lung cancer: five squamous cell carcinoma and one oat cell carcinoma. Pneumothorax led to the diagnosis in five cases and the remaining occurred as a complication of known neoplastic disease. The average age was 67 years. We analyze these six cases, along with 46 others from the literature....

Segmental neurofibromatosis type I (SNF-I) is a rare variant of neurofibromatosis (NF). It is classified as NF type V and defined as cafe'-au-lait macules and/or neurofibromas in a single ,unilateral segment of the body .We report two cases with SNF-I with striking similar manifestations.
متن کاملSpontaneous pneumothorax - A rare complication of laparoscopic cholecystectomy
We report the case of a 50-year-old lady who developed spontaneous right-sided pneumothorax during laparoscopic cholecystectomy. This was detected intra-operatively by a fall in her oxygen saturation and was confirmed by clinical examination. Postoperative chest X-ray also documented right-sided pneumothorax. The pathogenesis and management of this rare but potentially life-threatening complica...
متن کاملSpontaneous Hemothorax in a Patient with Neurofibromatosis Type 1: A Case Report
Background: Neurofibromatosis type1 (NF-1) is a hereditary autosomal dominant disease that is accompanied by complications, such as benign and malignant tumors and vascular involvement, including pulmonary hypertension, artery stenosis, and pulmonary artery aneurysm. Spontaneous hemothorax is a rare and lethal complication of NF-1 due to vasculopathy as stenosis or aneurysmal modifications of l...
متن کاملPrimary spontaneous pneumothorax: a diffuse disease of the pleura.
Primary spontaneous pneumothorax (PSP) is by definition not associated with any underlying lung disease. However, this does not mean that there is no underlying pathological process. It has become increasingly apparent over recent years that PSP is associated with diffuse and often bilateral abnormalities within the pleura and is not simply a disease caused by ruptured blebs/bullae. The patholo...
